Preventive maintenance

.Handle with care. Most of repair of the tool can be traced back to careless operations. Although pneumatic tools have a certain strength, they should not be used as hammers or levers, nor should they be intentionally dropped on the floor or dragged on the floor.

.Lubrication of gear tools. Some types of pneumatic tools contain gears and should be lubricated regularly with gear grease. Most of these tools have external hydraulic couplings that can be serviced by ARO's grease gun 7464-1. Grease 33153 (5 lb. tank) for gears and bearings; lubricate and install grease 36460 for "0" ring.

.Excessive lubricant in the tool can affect speed and power. Each set of gears should contain approximately 1 in 8 ounces of grease.

.Rinse the tool with three parts of detergent and one part of light oil solution for every 40 hours of operation. After rinsing, apply a small amount of spindle oil to the air inlet and run freely for one minute to ensure proper lubrication.

.If pipeline refueller is not used, apply a small amount of spindle oil to the air inlet of the tool for every 8 hours of operation and then run freely for one minute to ensure proper lubrication.

.Lubricate the drive screws. In some applications, it is recommended to immerse the first or two threads of the mandrel in light oil after multiple installations to minimize wear.
